History

In 1920, Penn Machine began business as the Penn Smokeless Coal Company and pioneered the manufacture of quality replacement parts for coal mining equipment, heavy industry and railroad locomotives. Over the years, Penn Machine has grown to become a major supplier of heavy-duty OEM and aftermarket components for railroad, transit, mining, steel, marine and general industry. Our business is both domestic and international in scope. In 1995, Penn Machine Company became a member of The Marmon Group.

Quality Assurance

Penn Machine offers a “First Piece Inspection” quality program. Each phase of the manufacturing process requires that the first piece be inspected and approved before the remaining parts are completed.

All work functions at Penn Machine including machining operations, metallurgical examinations and final inspection are governed by the latest Quality Assurance procedures and detailed work instructions.
